Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

Package Itinerary

DAY 1 Paro to Thimpu

Arrive at Paro International Airport. Complete Immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu. Check-in into your hotel. Spend the evening in leisure, roaming around the town near by clock tower. Overnight stay in Thimphu

DAY 2 Sightseeing tour of Thimphu

After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Thimphu, which includes the following places of interest Folk Heritage Museum, Memorial Chorten, Kuensel Phodrang – World’s Largest Sitting Buddha Statue, Takin Reserve & Mini Zoo, BBS Tower – Provides a vantage point view of the Thimpu Valley, Royal Textile Academy & Museum, Trashichhodzong – Fortress in Thimphu, Handicrafts Emporium. Overnight stay in Thimphu. Thimphu: is the capital to the tiny Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. It is perhaps the smallest capital in the world. It is a gallery of traditional Bhutanese art, architecture, culture and tradition and above all still so ethnic and pure. For most part of its history, Bhutan has tried consciously to save its cultures from the blunt influences of the western world. All these make Thimpu and other parts of the country a unique destination.

DAY 3 Thimpu To Paro

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro. The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley. After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a sightseeing tour of Paro which would include the following places Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro, Kyichu Lakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro, Ta Dzong – National Musuem of Bhutan, Overnight stay in Paro.

DAY 4 Excursion to Taktsang Monastery

After breakfast, proceed for Taktsang Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It requires 2-3 hours trekking to reach the Monastery. Ponies are available for hire.Visit Paro handicraft market during evening time. Overnight stay in Paro.

DAY 5 Paro to Paro Airport

After breakfast at hotel transfer to Paro Airport for your onward journey. As you go home let the everlasting memory of the radiant Himalayas and this beautiful serene kingdom linger in your mind and prompt you now and again to revisit this place.
